Clare Miller graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 1997 with a BSc (Hons) in Applied Biology. She then completed a PhD in Biophysical Chemistry in the Department of Pharmacy, King’s College London, in 2001. She has been a Senior Lecturer at the University of Lincoln since 2009, teaching microbiology across the School of Life Sciences’ full range of undergraduate degree programmes. She is also the Programme Leader for MSc Microbiology and the Senior Tutor for the School of Life Sciences.
Clare’s research interests include the visualisation of bacterial cells to investigate the effects of antimicrobial agents. Recent projects have used SEM, AFM and confocal microscopy to visualise the effects of antimicrobial peptides on Acinetobacter baumannii. She is also interested in pedagogical research and the dissemination of microbiological information through traditional and social media.
